Vauxhall Insignia wins Editors Choice Award

The 2008 Fleet World Awards held on 13 May at the Royal Automobile Club in London saw the all new Vauxhall Insignia win the highly coveted Editors Choice Award.

The Insignia, set for its World Premiere at this year’s British International Motor Show in London, combines class leading technology with dynamic design. Insignia is the most innovative, ambitious model ever to come from Vauxhall, combining the best environmental technologies with those designed to deliver optimum driver pleasure and active safety.

Maurice Howkins, UK Fleet Sales Director for Vauxhall said: “We’re very excited about the addition of Insignia to our fleet portfolio, it represents yet another leap forward in our 50 year heritage in this sector. The feedback so far has been fantastic and we’re delighted that Fleet World is as positive about its character and benefits to our customers as we are”.

The Fleet World Editor’s Choice Award is given to the vehicle that, in the opinion of the editor, will have a major impact in the fleet market.

Ken Rogers, Editor of Fleet World commented; “The Insignia will undoubtedly become one of the most important and significant fleet cars of the next few years. In my opinion it will raise the bar in terms of design and specification and for those reasons I feel that it is a worthy winner on my award”.

The Fleet World Awards are designed to acknowledge those car and van fleet-related companies that have contributed that extra something to the industry. The Judging panel consists of representatives from the leasing industry, price guides, fleet management professionals and Fleet World's editorial team.

Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles were also highly successful at the Van Fleet Awards, winning Van Manufacturer of the Year as well as Best Medium Van for the UK-built Vivaro and Best Light Van for the Vauxhall Combo.
